Dealing The Game That used To Feed Me

Today I dealt the first ever hand of 2-6 spread limit holdem at The MGM.  I think my sports jacket spent more time on the back of a chair then on my back.  When I came to town six years ago I drove 55 hours non stop and rolled into town with $ 200 dollars in my pocket.  I only intended to play until I could get a poker job.  I am the reverse of most poker workers.  I wanted to deal and not play.  Alot of dealers are failed players.  The only reason I had the 200 was due to the fact that my buddy let me borrow the saved up rake form our weekly home games.  Another  friend had arrived in Las Vegas just a few days earlier.  So I moved in with him we had no furniture and no TV.

     After grabbing a few hours of sleep.  I headed out to The Excalibur and played in the smallest game I could find.  It was 1-3 Spread limit holdem.  I lost 30 dollars and went to lunch.  When I came back from lunch I played for 12 straight hours and cashed out for over 300 dollars.  My bankroll had almost doubled in 1 day.  Over the next 9 days I had run my roll up to over 1000 dollars.  I them jumped up tp 2-6 spread.

     My new thing to keep myself in food was I would play at Excalibur from noon to five and eat their free buffet.  Once done eating I would take my victory lap and head off to The Horseshoe and play 4-8 holdem.  I would play till about midnight and then get a $16 dollar comp.  After I got the comp I would proceed to the coffee shop where I would order two entrees and take one home with me for breakfast.

     Now my dealers school was starting.  I had dealt underground back around Boston, but figured you needed a certificate to deal in Las Vegas.  Well the guy who ran the school was an ass clown.  He and I had a blow out.  So I went to Walmart.  I bought a white Puritan Shirt size 17.5 x 34, a pair of George black slacks, an Iron and an I ironing board.  I went home showered and ironed my clothes.  I then got into my car and drove to Binions Horseshoe.  Now I was to the point where I was getting friendly with the staff.  So I asked the shift boss if I could have an audition.  He said he was two busy,  but if I liked I deal the learn to play poker lesson.  So I said ok.  When I finished I asked if I could stay and practice my shuffle and pitch he said ok.

     It was almost time for the 2:00 tourney to start.  The floorman had EO too many people and lost control of the line up.  He comes over to me and says Jonathan go sit down on table 19.  I could not believe it I was about to deal poker at Horseshoe.  I was not even employed there.  I got 15 hands out with no mistakes.  I would deal their for another 5 weeks for just tips and then they finally processed me the rest is history.  That is why it was special to get to deal the first hand our of a game that kept me in rent and groceries.

     Last night once again I got side tracked and only played one tourney.  I lost so the bankroll is at $330.

In brick and mortar action this morning before work I lost $10.  Tonight I will play some form of tourney poker.

     I got 3 more views while at work today on Match.com.  I will respond to my views in a hand crafted response.  Also tonight I will do a search checking out the newbies, the fresh faces if you will.  The priority tonight however is to respond to the girl who gave me an unsolicited response.  I will also check out my secondary dating sites.   I will now show you the side by side technique.  This where windows 7 is amazing.  You line up in one window the girl you are targeting on half the screen and on the other half you open the message her window.  This way you can address her in a point for point fashion with out toggeling tabs.   In the brick and mortar side of dating I have nothing more to report.
