Well gang I have not spoken to you in quite sometime for some reason blogspot suspended my account, but I have gotten my privileges back. I do not know why I lost them at no time did I ever post profanity, pornography or convey a threat. Just the same it is nice to be back.
Life is about constant change. It is about old opportunities ending and new ones beginning. I have learned not to worry about things that I can not control. The best I can do is to put forth the best effort I can at every thing I do each day. To revisit a Vince Lombardi statement. When he walked into his first team meeting he said "men we are going to relentlessly chase perfection knowing full well that we will never catch, but in doing so we will catch excellence."
Well lets now start talking about my dating situation. I was just about to swear off online dating, but I have received some positive responses. We have exchanged responses and are close to taking it into the brick and mortar world. On another brick and mortar level I put it out their on the line. I asked this girl out that used to work in our room as a non poker employee. I figured it what the hell it is a free roll either she says yes to dinner and drinks or she does not accept my advances and I never see her again. The funny part is I walked over to her property to ask her out and she was not there yet. So I wrote her a note explaining my intentions and put it in an envelope and gave to one of her coworkers to give to her. This event took place this afternoon. I figure if I do not hear back from her in the next day or so she is not interested. Most likely what will happen is she reads the note aloud to her coworkers they all have a laugh at my expense and she balls it up and threw it away.
In the past few weeks I have not been playing much poker, brick and mortar or online. I have not had the energy. On the few occasions I did play I booked some ok winners. I was reading one of what I usually consider a poker rag sheet. You know the ones I am talking about, the one who have the same articles each month. Like how to play AK when you miss the flop in middle limit hold'em. They ran a feature on Eric Seidel. He might be the greatest tournament player in the history of our sport, but will be unfairly remembered for a final table blunder that was perpetuated by the movie Rounders.
The Boston Redsox open up in a couple of weeks. It will be an interesting year. Living and dieing with the Boston 9 is a bipolar experience with great highs and rock bottom lows. This is the time of year where a Boston sports writer once said this is where Redsox fans think that they will win it all, nothing will go wrong and they will win it all. He went on to say that they start talking and thinking like the alcoholics that think they can handle a few glasses of wine with dinner. None the less I am all in with this team. If need be I will go down with the ship and our savior and salvation Terry Francona. Through him all things are possible.
My new hobby that has been taking the night off from poker and dating and drinking 80 proof rum while listening to Irish music on youtube. I find it very soothing and it can fit into your life where ever you live in the world. Still my ultimate goal is to spend the first Saturday in May in Kentucky. Then fly to Prince Edward Island for 5 months and then spend October in Boston if necessary and then spending the next 6 months on Oahu. There will be occasional trips to London and the bay area. Plan B is The Vancouver plan.
